Come write away with us!

Reviews about Write Away

“The whole retreat simply blew my mind away. To say I enjoyed it, I have learned from it, I appreciate every single detail of it, seems insufficient to describe every single thing in the retreat that I LOVE.”

Jang E.

“What I loved most (I can’t think of just one): the flowing schedule that included group time, one-on-ones, and free time to write; wine and cheese nights; meditation sessions; the incredibly nurturing environment we were in that allowed us all to be vulnerable and to share.”

Justin T.

“As an aspiring writer, I definitely learned a lot from Aurora, Sam and Mina. The insights and practical tips they so generously shared throughout the sessions helped me in powerful ways—from better understanding my writing interests, fears and motivations, to setting writing goals, to developing good writing habits. And because Write Away was thoughtfully designed to be a safe and nurturing space, I was able to freely express my views and even read a sample of my writing. As a bonus, Write Away gave me the opportunity to meet some awesome women writers who share a passion not just for words, but for life and laughter (and cheese and massages!).”

Alex A.

“It would have to be the sisterhood. We all understood that this was a safe place to feel how we felt, say what we needed to say, and be honest about it. And even after the four-day event, we stayed in touch and continued to support each other. Very rare. Very special.”

Tata A.

“It was a complete experience package that excelled in every way. It was obvious the organizers put a lot of careful thought and intention into creating this experience, and I’ve never felt so nurtured and cared for. ”

Avril R.

“Write Away exceeded expectations! The retreat gave me a chance to regroup, recover, and re-imagine my life and dreams. I came home feeling much lighter and more alive...and with the right tools to continue writing even when I'm not in the mood or inspired.”

Anna M.

“I love that I was around loving and caring people. It was such an open and safe space where there was no judgment, whether you're a seasoned writer or just aspiring to be one. The creativity of everyone is so inspiring. ”

FAQs

  • I only have an idea. I haven't written anything. But I've always wanted to be a writer. Will Write Away be right for me?

We've created Write Away to be a welcoming and supportive space for ALL writers...even if you haven't started writing yet. We know that it's a tender and vulnerable place to make your dream happen, to put your ideas out there, to feel scared that no one will want to read what you've written. Sam, Mina and I know about your fears because we've been there. This is your chance to FINALLY conquer that scary first blank page.

However, Write Away is NOT for those who want to learn the basics of grammar and punctuation. Workshops and mentoring will not be focused on writing skills but on getting your ideas down on the page.

  • What's the schedule?

We will leave Manila early on October 19 so we can get to Baguio by lunch time. There will be daily workshops. In between, you can schedule your massage, your life coaching and author mentoring sessions. Beyond that, the schedule is yours to do as you please, so you can commune with nature, take long inspiring walks...and hopefully write or work on your creative project. At night, we will chill with wine, cheese and stories.

  • Am I really required to write?

You will leave the retreat with a solid creative concept and a few written pages, hopefully even a chapter. But you will still need to write these. We cannot write your concept or book for you. If you want to just get away and soak up inspiration, that's fine. But to make this retreat worth the investment of your time and money, we invite you to take the opportunity to finally start writing.

  • Am I required to share?

Sharing your work is always optional. But we highly encourage it. We have created a safe space so you can be vulnerable and can put aside your fears in telling your stories out loud.
